Instructions:
1. Prep the Wings for Maximum Crispiness
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. Moisture prevents crispiness.
- In a bowl, toss the wings with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, baking powder, and cornstarch.
- Add vegetable oil and mix well to coat evenly.
2. Bake or Air-Fry for Perfect Crispiness
- Oven Method:
- Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
- Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top (this allows airflow).
- Arrange wings skin-side up and bake for 40 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Air-Fryer Method:
- Preheat air fryer to 200°C (400°F).
- Arrange wings in a single layer (don’t overcrowd).
- Air-fry for 18-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway.
3. Make the Honey Garlic Sauce
- In a pan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in honey, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and rice vinegar.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch + water, then add to the sauce.
- Simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.
4. Coat the Wings & Serve
- Toss crispy wings in the warm honey garlic sauce until fully coated.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
